CIC Ocean Research, in partnership with Oregon State University (OSU), is offering a fully funded Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position for a Master of Science in Marine Resource Management—starting 16 September 2025.

What You’ll Do:
Be part of real deep-sea research! You’ll study deep-sea biodiversity in the Cook Islands using baited camera and trap data to help build an ecological baseline for our seabed. The work supports important research for a Cook Islands deep-sea mining license area (CBG4).

Where:
Based in the Ecological Oceanography Lab at OSU, with fieldwork in the Cook Islands

Who Should Apply:
Cook Islanders with a bachelor’s degree in marine science, oceanography, or a related field—or strong relevant work experience. Experience with marine fieldwork, R or Python data analysis, and scientific writing is a plus.

What’s Covered:
You’ll earn a monthly salary of USD $3,142, plus benefits and tuition fully covered!
